kodak instamatic X-35 camera {vintage photographs}
The Instamatic X-35 was made by Kodak in the 1970′s it sold from 1970-1976, it used 126 film and a GE magicube flash bulb. I love collecting old cameras, this one in particular is a favourite of mine because it was ”our” family camera in the early 70′s. Probably the first camera that I ever remember, documenting my early childhood memories. I can still recall...
Hen and chicks {sempervivum tectorum} nature & plant photography
One of my favourites in the garden, a cute little plant with a super cute name…Hen and chicks {hen-and-chickens, semps or houseleeks} are succulents that belong to the flowering plant family Crassulaceae. white hydrangea bloom {hydrangea macrophylla} floral photography
Hydrangea flowers usually come into full bloom in mid-summer, making them a popular choice in wedding designs. Hydrangea blooms are often white but can be pink, red, purple or blue. The colour is determined by the pH levels in the soil they grow in: {blue} in acidic soil, {pale creams} in neutral soil and {pink} in alkaline soil. {Captured with Canon 40D /50mm}. ...
Field Poppy {Papaver rhoeas} flower photography
Field poppies, also called corn or flanders poppies are usually bright red in colour. They have four overlapping {papery} petals with a dark base and a leafless thin stem. Poppies are annuals that flower in the late spring & if the weather is warm enough you may see them in the early fall as well. { Canon Xsi /50mm }
Black-eyed Susan {Rudbeckia hirta} floral photography
The black-eyed Susan flower is an easy growing favorite in the garden. Part of the daisy family, this colourful perrenial blooms in the summer months of July through August and can grow up to 3 feet tall. Yellow “ray” shaped petals circle around a dark brown domed center. {Canon 40D / 50mm}
Pretty Pink Snapdragon {Antirrhinum majus} floral photography
I absolutely love Snapdragons, they are one of my favourite flowers…Snapdragons grow as slender stalks with clusters of snappable flowers. These flowers resemble little dragon faces that when squeezed appear to be opening and closing {snapping} their mouth. Snapdragons are annuals & come in a wide variety of beautiful colours! Captured in the garden this evening. { Canon 40 D / 50mm }
